Hi sian,
Just my thought. You have to be careful if you 'abandon' fellowshipping with your church members, becoz you will be tempted eaily by influences that will make you grow 'cold' towards God. I think it's wonderful for you to keep going for your cell group meetings and church activities. Eveb Christians are still in the process of being changed by God. They may seem 'hypocrites' to you becoz they have some character flaws, etc. But God will change them and you too. Even Jesus fellowships with His disciples, to teach them God's Word, etc (in the bible). It's ok to mix with non-Christian friends but then, becoz they are 'pre-christians' (I'm optimistic here), their values will be different from you as they are of the 'world'. If you are not strong spiritually within, you will be lured to temptations. In Jesus, you'll find the lasting peace you need. Outside world can't provide you this. That's why I think It's important to go for your cell groups and church activities. By being in the 'shelter' of God, you will grow strong in the Lord and in His Word. Jesus mixes with 'sinners' too in the Bible. But Jesus knew His purpose is to come to save sinners (all of us). Remember to share Christ and His gospel with your pre-Christians friends. Let your light shine before them. Invite them to church and activities. Pray for them. Let me tell you my experience. When I became a Christian, my habits slowly changed. God changed me and still in the process of changing me. For eg, last time, I used to listen to certian worldly music. Now, I seldom do so. It's automatic. I'm not saying listening worldly music is not good. I'm just saying that God will change you, those things that are not so good for you. But you know, while God is willing to change us, we oursleves must also let God do His work in us and yield to Him. Hope your faith in God will not fail. Stick to God!
