Dear friend I am just as clueless as you..knowing nothing and not trained either..but I am definitely Spirit-lead. As long as you are willing, and wanting..seek God to guide you and teach you. Of course, you must have a passion to work with children. You must adore children. That is the main ingredient in handling children. but still we must be somehow trained in some ways. So i am often seeking and finding out about this area. Something really interesting happen to me one day..just out of the blue, the Singapore Autistic Association send me an invitation for a gathering of volunteers(er, huh?) How did they know about me? I do not have children or siblings who are autistic or even mentioned to anyone except my church and God that I wanted to find out about Autism and how to preach the gospel to them.. to date, they still send me stuff..including their newsletter.. I just read them, gathered more information, re-compiled them for our church. I love children, my own and children belonging to other people. I wished I could have more..but I can't . due to medical reasons. And because of the work I do in other children's lives, God gave me 2 wonderful girls who are easy to care for and very obedient and disciplined. I never stop thanking God for them. And I continued my work in children for as long as I can. Right now, I am helping our church to build up its teaching resources. Not that I am trained in this field..but i am touched by God to give in this area. Each month I set aside about $100 for this. God Bless Gina |
