Dear sis-in-Christ

I emphatise with your sister and her family whose apartment may be forced sale by the bank or facing impending bankruptcy. This financial crisis has hit many people, including me and my future is still uncertain but I learn to live day by day trusting the Lord. Thru this crisis, I appreciate the Lord more.

For your info, I was a successful businesswoman who used to own and live in a bungalow. Though I have now been striped off life's luxury, it does not mean that I have no hope in the living God. So, I don't understand why you are imposing your expectation on Christians to help when they are not obligated to do so, considering that $300,000 is no small amount even in today's standard. Also, how sure are you that your sister's property will appreciate to the level of her purchase price by next year? Didn't the Scripture tell us not to boast about tomorrow? For your info, I am still trying to get rid of an office space to lower my debt to the bankers in the event there is another financial calamity in the near future but unfortunately there is still no taker. I just learnt in the book of Romas that we should be debtor to nobody but unto geniune love. Also what do you mean by lives that last? I thought our physical lives here are only temporal and only things of God are eternal. Pray incessantly for your sister. Suggest you read tesimony No. 76 of True Stories posted in this website, it might encourage you.

It's painful if we have to face bankruptcy if solution or God chooses not to intervene but surely it is not the end. He promised that He will not leave us, so I believe He will see to all our needs, so what without the frills.

While I will pray for God's hand over the circumstance of your sister, I hope that this trial will draw you together with your sister into a deeper relationship with God.
