Looks or Character?
I hope someone out there can give me some advice. For the past 15 years, I've been trying to develop a relationship with a girl but all I get is rejection. Every girl I meet in my church , says I am a great 'brother' to have, we always ended up being very good friends but never to the next level. They always tell me 'we connect on many levels but...' There is always a 'but'! They always tell me their deepest secrets and do things that might mislead me! Until one day, when I express to this girl, she told me that we are compatible on the inside but on the outside she prefers someone who looks good and atheletic! Of course my heart was crushed and so was this 2 years of friendship! THEN it occurred to me that it's my looks that might be repulse to the opposite sex! Don't worry, I don't look like a freak, but I am defintely no Tom Cruise or Leon Lai. Yes, I am slightly overweight, extra love handles on the sides but I believe I am alright and ok on the inside. These girls says I am cute, of course is not the handsome cute, its the clownish cute because I make them laugh. But after 15years of rejection, I am beginning to think I actually look like a freak! I know first impressions last but will a woman ever go past my looks and be attracted to me because of my character?? I am 28yrs old and never been in love before!! |
