This is a particularly sensitive topic for me. Why must the question always be either brains or beauty? Why not both? We need not choose between the two. I am always amused by people who think that looking for beauty in a mate is something wrong. The key is when one looks for ONLY beauty. That is when there is a problem. If physical beauty were irrelevent in the search for a mate, then we would not expect to find verses such as Genesis 24:16 in the Bible. Beauty is actually VERY important in finding a mate, but not THE ONLY important criteria. This is where a lot of people make a mistake.

I understand perfectly where the young man who started this series of letters is coming from. I myself am a 30 year old virgin who has never kissed and I'm VERY proud of it. So I'm well aware of the pain of loneliness this man is going through. I too have noticed that the more secrets a woman tells a man, the less she is romantically attracted to him and merely wants to use him as a sounding board, viewing him as just a brother in Christ, not as a potential mate.

Waiting is difficult. I know. Still, we must be patient. Pray that God might ease your loneliness UNTIL that time comes when you can meet her.
