Question: Slain in the Spirit?

One of the many sightings seen in Charismatic or Pentecostal Churches where by a person being laid hands on will fall backwards and may experience a temporal unconsciousness. The reasons given is that the Power of the Holy Spirit fell upon the person and thus the physical experience. Is that biblical or some human inventions?
