We want to hear from you... A query that needs an answer, a word to uplift the people, a statement of concern that needs prayer, a cry for help...

More important than what possition a person falls in, is the question, what/who is the seeker seeking for?
To quote Luke 11:9-13 (NKJV) ... "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?" It's interesting that in the passage that immedietly follows, Jesus is accused of casting out demons by the power of Beelzebub. I believe that the accounts aren't placed haphazardly, but there is a reason for the way they are placed. It's almost the same question that's being asked today about those falling over under the Spirit. Jesus was accused of operating satanicly. I don't doubt that there are many who are out taking advantage in that way, but more important than which direction you fall in, and who lays hands on you (not that that isn't impotant -- I wouldn't want a witch to lay hands on me), is this: What is my motive in coming up for prayer? Am I simply wanting an ecstatic experience, and to get goosebumps all over me like everyone else? If I ask for an experience, I'll get an experience. If a witch is laying hands on me, the experience won't come from God. Even if a true servant of God is laying hands on me, the most it will be is simply an experience, because that's what I asked for. I'll get goose bumps, and I'll fall over in whichever direction I happen to be leaning (or that I'm pushed), but I'll have nothing more than that. I'll probably come away unchanged, and the following Monday morning, I'll be my old fleshly self again. I'm afraid that happens too often in the church. Am I truly seeking a personal encounter with God? Was it out of a hunger for God that I've come foreward? Then, that's different. If I ask for an encounter with God, understanding that He is revealed in Jesus Christ, come in the flesh, dead, buried and ressurected and Lord of all, then God is going to give me, in Jesus' Name, exactly what I came for. It may be in greater or lesser measure, depending on the ministry of His servant, and my faith. THEN, you can expect to see the fruit of the spirit in my life in greater measure. If we're coming to God out of a hunger for Him, there's no reason to fear this or that. Even if I'm not being careful about every little detail, such as which direction should I fall, and who is this laying hands on me, and is the "Toronto Blessing" scriptural or not; If my heart is seeking God, and not just for an exciting time, is God going to say, "Sorry, you didn't do it right. Take a snake instead of a fish!"...? Not according to Luke 11:9-13.
