We want to hear from you... A query that needs an answer, a word to uplift the people, a statement of concern that needs prayer, a cry for help...

Sorry, as far as I'm concerned, there's no good and evil attached to a particular word.
*** Every word has it good and evil. One example is the four letter word which everyone know that it's evil. I am not saying that the word "chup cheng" is evil. But to use this word to describe Samaritan when they are still around in the present day is not appropriate. Do you think that the unbelievers expect Christians to use this kind of word. I don't buy the business of one word is more holy than the other, or one word is more vulgar than the other. ***I did not say that the word is holy. Please read properly. What I mean is that unbelievers see us differently by the kind of words coming from our mouth. Words are just supposed to convey a particular meaning. If it's offensive, it's because the listener thinks so. ***I agree to a certain extend. But if wrong words are use to describe that person or the person he knew, then you have offended someone. There are other ways to explain without offending someone unless the person choose not to do so. Level of vulgarity of a particular word is dependent on the mind of the listener as well as the social context. It has nothing to do with the word. ***If the word is evil, like the four letter word, then it has to do with the word. Do you think you are able to fit the four letter word in any context and still remain good? If the word is evil, you are not able to fit in anywhere and still remain good. In this case, it has nothing to do with the listener. I can insult you in the rudest way without resorting to any of the so-called "vulgar words." Maybe I can add in some beautiful words (like flower, butterfly, waterfall) as well. Will that make it more palatable? ***You are right. So why use chup cheng if you can use better word? Anyway I don't think you can understand what I'm trying to say, I hope you do. We should always watch our language, but there's no such thing as measuring a person's holiness by the kind of language we use. ***If you think that I can't understand what you are trying to say, then why waste time writing this message. You think you are very wise, is it? Whether a person's holiness is measured by the kind of language we use, you can find out from the unbelievers. Last, so you think that Christians can use any words just like the unbelievers? example, buay song, ka na sai, wah lan eh .....
