I am struggling not to be an idolater........

I am a Christian who was a Roman Catholic, after reading the Bible and some Christian books concerning the lies beneath the Church of Rome, her idolatrous practice and distorted gospel, her over-emphasis on the wrong concept of Virgin Mary. I renounced the Church.
However, whenever i passed by a Catholic Church or a Catholic bookshop, there is a strong feeling within me that simply draws me into the premise. I would find myself kneeling before statues of the Catholic Mary and other Catholic images and when i am in a bookshop, i will buy all those Catholic pictures and medals, and scapulars, rosary bead...and wear them...whenever i reach home, the Holy Spirit will convict me of my sin, then i will dispose all those things i have bought a few hours ago. This thing repeat for about a least twice a week, but thank God, He always delivers me. How can i totally break away from such 'attraction' towards statues..because to me, they look beautiful and artistic....pse pray for me.
