My sister's sister-in-law son went through the same thing your nephew is going through.

From the time he was born he had fits and it started to be more frequent in his life as a baby. This parents who are my relative because my sister married their brother, had their child awarded at KK children hospital. The boy was ok in responding to his parents before being awarded. But later on when he was awarded both in ICU and after brain operation back to the normal ward, the child is now invalid like a vegetable. My own sister gave birth to her son one year apart from her sister-in-laws son being born. Today, it's more than 3 years for that boy who is invalid and he can't enjoy his own birth day celebration. My sister brought her son over for the party and both boys took pictures together, one standing and the other laying in bed with no responds at all. How sad his mother must feel. His mother had sacrificed 1 year being at home to look after him, and even after the operation he still gets fits once in a while and has to be awarded at ICU. Now they have a maid looking after him.
I'm not too sure about KK only because a close friend of my mother's had all 3 of her children diagnosed with asmath from a young age and too much administration of steroids now caused her girls to have diabetes which later lead to them having thyroid problems and kidney problem aswell for one of the child. The mother told me that they did not monitor the administration of steroids well enough to prevent her daughters from getting diabetes which caused other physically sickness aswell. If your family is financially aforable, then please find a private doctor at either Mt. Elizabeth, Mt. Alvenia or Gleneagles to deal with this situation as soon as possible.
