I was born into a non-Christian family. However, I was sent to a mission school and along the way, I embraced Christianity.
That was about 12 years ago.
My parents were fiercely opposed to the Christian faith. In my late teens, my requests to be allowed to go to church often turned into heated arguments. My parents could not fathom this Christian God who caused their child to turn against them !!! However, praise the Lord that my family has finally accepted that I am a Christian and no longer stand in my way of church activities. Praise Him, too, for He has blessed me greatly in my academic studies. I am currently pursuing a professional degree in the university, and am the pride and joy of my parents. During those dark years when I used to wonder why I had to be different from my family by being a Christian, why I had to be persecuted, and all the other countless "whys" , He has never failed to fill me with His abundant grace and strength. I used to envy families that attended church together and prayed together. He has not let me become bitter, but has filled my heart with deep love for my family. I am now praying for their salvation. Praise the Lord, my sister was baptised two years ago and my mother now shows an inclination towards Christianity. I am eagerly awaiting my own baptism next year. I just want to say, Lord Jesus, I thank You for all that you have been, are now, and will always be to me. Hallelujah !!!
