Praising God's sovereignty over life and death (Michelle Teo)

Thank you for sharing your story. I would like to add to your testimony of God's power over life and death. In July 1998, i was 2 months pregnant when i had a miscarriage. I was experiencing abdominal pains coupled with bleeding. The doctor didn't have much hope, but he didn't want to tell us that we should prepare for the impending loss. My husband and i prayed a lot, and church friends were at home praying for us, and some even came to the hospital to pray. We said that God is faithful and he will not disappoint us and so we prayed for a miracle. Then suddenly, a sudden rush of blood flowed out, together with a piece of tissue. I knew what that was and I was devastated. My husband & i both cried a lot in the hospital. We even refused to believe that the baby was gone even though I saw the foetus came out. But finally the next day, we decided to pray and gave the child back to God and it's unbelievable how much peace we felt immediately. I felt in my heart that the child was a boy, and we decided to name him Joshua.
Later on, many friends shared with me their own experiences of a miscarriage and how long it took for them to get over it. Some even thought nothing of it. But to us, the child was very real, and we know, Jesus has taken him back to heaven where he came from. We were totally at peace and we can testify that God is closest to us when we are broken in heart.
Four months later, i conceived again and subsequently gave birth to a beautiful little girl who we named Amanda - beloved one. We talked to her sometimes, about Joshua, and she will smile. We believe that Joshua has been, and is praying for us all here.
Thank and praise our mighty God.
