Singapore 21 -- Chapter of New Life
Our Future Destiny (vision 2001 and beyond for Singapore): When Singapore was founded on 29 January 1819 by Raffles after he surveyed other islands nearby and signed a treaty with Sultan Hussein. Well that was the new beginning as a island that God has placed which grew as a nation today, and some of us may remember the good old days that we were once called a Sea Town with many Straits Settlement coming in to work for their families. Here we look in life and activity , and it would be very difficult to name on the face of the earth with brighter prospects or more present satisfaction . Today Singapore has surpassed Raffles expectations . A world-class and green city being on top number one , truly we are also positioning as Antioch of Asia - Christ for the nations .It is very predestined how could an small island like Singapore ever shine the Light Of Truth to the surroundings. Remembering our World-War II that we were then under of the Japanese , and have also suffered from food storage, education, peaceful homes including innocent lives were also being taken away. Not to mention other memories we have also shared. We cannot denied that He still loves and care us as a nation despite of the hardship we have gone. But do we ever bring to our knees that He is the One who stood beside us as a whole nation and the society we live in? Our answer is rather offensive because we face many obstacles standing in our way and have been living out of self pride and centreness , especially in our differences and religions we believe. Being led astray from the "True Light The Creator of Heaven and The Earth". The influence we live today is greatly affecting the being of His body as a nation that hardened our hearts of acknowledging Christ. This can hurt in our hearts and mind sometimes as One United Kingdom. For we can see physical and demographic limitations are nothing to the Lord of the Nations. God delights in using the small and the weak . The greater challenge has to do with the limitations we place on ourselves, and have shut off our Sovereign Lord. So let us pray and watch Singapore as He is in the process of "Tearing Down" these mindsets and strongholds whether it may be from Foreign Idols in Chinese Malays and Hindus from our forefathers who have worshipped in the past as our antcestor. And let His whole body as a nation of Singapore hear the sound of trumpet calling JESUS IS LORD OF ABOVE ALL OTHERS. Don’t you want see that change being fulfilled according to His words today in our tribe and language , from young as a child to the elderly . I believe this is our heart cry as we see the next generation 21 of Joshua rising in faith reaching over the Promise Land He once claim for us, for we do not want to see them suffer after us. But always rejoicing in the Name of our Savior. I am sure if we keep on praying every day this reality will see the Glory Of Our King and the nation of Singapore shall be called "New City Of Jerusalem", lifting His Flag hoisting high before the nations of this earth. Recently the Lord had showed us a His wonders that the time was near upon the nation of Singapore if you recall the theme of 98 National Day Parade, it was according to revelation of Scriptures in chapter 22 the "River of Life" after we see His creation of new Heaven and Earth which can be found in previous chapters. Why of all the themes they chose River of Life and not others they can choose? Basically it was for one reason we can be sure of, that He has sent the Spirit to be among His people to manifest the name of Jesus is bound to return any time now as long we are ready, like as it is said in verse Hebrews 9:7 "Behold He is coming soon", and in Hebrews 9:28 which says He will appear to those who seek Him. You may think so what no big deal to yourself, but THINK again and ask this question in your heart "ARE YOU SPIRITUALLY AWAKE FOR HIM". Again He is giving the theme for last year National Day "TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE". Yes, with one vision, one people and one nation. So let us get on our knees and PRAY as one voice joined with the angels Praising the King. For revival has already begun here in Singapore. Jeremy Koh |
