Disagree: Sigh. Did you ever really know the Truth?

Sigh. Another ex-'Catholic' who never really knew what the true Catholic faith is about. This is the saddest letter I have ever read. I do not blame or condemn my Protestant brothers and sisters for thinking that the Catholic Church is incorrect in its teaching: they simply never knew better and were possibly never exposed to an unbiased explanation of the Faith. But for a supposed ex-'Catholic', it is inexcusable. Before you left the Church, did you READ any Catholic texts explaining doctrine? Did you ask someone who knew about it? Sometimes we search high and low for God, without understanding that God is sometimes right in front of us. I wonder if you truly understood the theological ramifications of the scriptural passages you read. After all, how can YOU be sure that what YOU understand scripture to mean, is in fact what GOD intended it to mean? Unless of course you are saying that by the power of the Holy Spirit you are infallible in your interpretation. Curious then isn't it: the objective fact of Protestant fragmentation. Don't all Protestants read the scriptures? Don't they all claim inspiration form the Holy Spirit? Our God is a God of unity and NOT one of fragmentation. This fact of multi-denominationalism in itself is proof that the idea of a personal revelation or interpretation of God's Word is a slippery slope to error. It's also ironically amusing to me that the idea of personal revelation by the Holy Spirit effectively makes everyone who reads the Bible (in faith, if you like)infallible. Something all Protestants would deny the Pope from having. Interesting. Everyone in the world is infallible but not the Pope. Is this really your theology? Or is it just because the Pope is Catholic?

Please email me if you are serious about learning the truth about Scripture and the Catholic Church.

May God bless you and keep you.
