amomos "without blemish;" is always so rendered in the RV, Eph_1:4; Eph_5:27; Php_2:15; Col_1:22; Heb_9:14; 1_Pet_1:19; Jude_1:24; Rev_14:5. This meaning is to be preferred to the various AV renderings, "without blame," Eph_1:4, "unblameable," Col_1:22, "faultless," Jude_1:24, "without fault," Rev_14:5. The most authentic mss. have amomos, "without blemish," in Php_2:15, for amometos, "without rebuke." In the Sept., in reference to sacrifices, especially in Lev. and Num., the Psalms and Ezek., "of blamelessness in character and conduct." See BLAME, FAULT.
