Finding the desired book fast.
I can't seem to remember the order of the books in the bible. With the pilot it is hopeless as there are no longer any visual que as when physically flipping the pages of a bible. Well, PilotDoc 1.4 offers a new option under Preference which will alphabetise the names of all the books loaded. This should make searching for the books much easier. sorted docs

Finding a chapter/verse in PilotDoc.
The FIND facility in PilotDoc can be put to good use here. For example, in John, to search for chapter 3 verse 16, tap the F button and write " 3.16". To go to the beginning of a chapter, just find the chapter number followed by a stop. finding chapter and verse in a book

BookMarking a verse.
You can mark any place on the currently opened book using the bookmark option, accessible from the option menu or by tapping the little triangle at the lower right corner. Once created, you can jump directly to any bookmarked location with it. making bookmark

I have no means of testing the tips in the following section on the newer Palm O/S 2.0 of the Palm Pilot Personal/Professional. Would some kind soul please let me know if they work in the same way. TIA.

Using the Palm O/S FIND command
Enabling "Global Find" of books. If you wish to look for a particular word, phrase or string in more than one book at a time, you can use the O/S FIND command. To enable all books to be search this way, check the "Allow Global Find" option in PilotDoc Preference. FIND will search all books, and all addresses, etc. Can take quite a while if you have lots of data.
Enabling "Selectrive Find" of books. If you do not want to search all books, you can selectively enable individual books you wish to be included in the search. Under the 'file details' menu of the currently opened book, check the "Always Search" option for each book to be included. Remember to uncheck the global find option of PilotDoc preference.
