LEARNING ABOUT PRAYER AND WORSHIP

The Lord's Prayer

Let's summarise prayer and worship by relating it to the Lord's prayer.

What are the different aspects of prayer indicated in each line of the Lord's prayer?
(Matthew_6:9-13, New King James Version, Thomas Nelson):

"Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
    Your kingdom come.
Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen".

Remember our acronym for prayer, 'ACTOY'. Where are these aspects of prayer found in the Lord's prayer?

    A Adoration
    C Confession
    T Thanksgiving
    O Others
    Y Yourself

As an exercise, meditate on the Lord's prayer by noting each aspect of A.C.T.O.Y. to each thought in the Lord's prayer.

Spend a week meditating on one line of the Lord's prayer each day and making it your personal devotion.
