Good Morning!

QUESTION: What is the sin that would derail you from walking with God?

Of Israel's 42 kings, nine walked with God. Of those nine, only three maintained their relationship with God until their death. Either POWER, SEX, or MONEY got them!

You, as a business or professional person are today's counterpart to Israel's kings of old: You have prestige, mobility, relative wealth, and power over others. In Deuteronomy 17:16, 17, God warned the kings they must not:

(1) "Acquire great numbers of horses."

Horses represented power and prestige, and by multiplying them, the kings set themselves above the masses in saying, "Because of my wealth, I am better than you."

QUESTION: "What is the "horse" in your life that could undo your walk with God?"

"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling." (Proverbs 16:18)

(2) "Take many wives."

When Israel's kings grew weary of their wives, they simply added new ones. Israel seemed to enjoy their wives concurrently while we enjoy them consecutively.

QUESTION: "Are you a 'one woman man' or a skirt-chaser?" (I Timothy 3:2)

(3) " Accumulate large amounts of silver and gold."

QUESTION: "Do you have a secret desire to accumulate wealth?" If you do, you may be headed for some serious trouble:

"Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction." (I Timothy 6:9)

QUESTION: As one of today's modern day "kings", do you plan to walk with God the rest of your days, or will POWER, SEX, or MONEY bring you down?

Have a great week!
