Good Morning!

PRIDE... that malignant disease of man that:

* Keeps him from seeking God: "The wicked in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, 'There is no God.'" (Psalm 10:4)

* Hinders him from learning: "A poor, yet wise lad is better than an old and foolish

king who no longer knows how to receive instruction." (Ecclesiastes 4:13)

* Is a precursor to his eventual humiliation: "A man's pride will bring him low,

but a humble spirit will obtain honor." (Proverbs 29:23)

"PERHAPS THE GREATEST HINDRANCE TO HUMAN PROGRESS IS PRIDE"

Here are three questions to help you evaluate yourself on how you are doing in the PRIDE Department:

Do you mentally pigeon-hole others to see where they fit on your pecking order? "...But when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding." (II Corinthians 10:12)

Are you serving others or are you expecting them to serve you? "For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and give His life a ransom." (Mark 10:45)

Are you basically an impatient person? Often at the root of our impatience lies the assumption that we have rights that others are violating. Jesus said, "If anyone wants to follow in my footsteps, he must give up all right to himself." (Luke 9:23 Phillips Translation)

Keep in mind that "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6):

"...This is the man to whom I will look and have regard: he who is humble and of a broken or wounded spirit, and who trembles at My word and reveres My commands." (Isaiah 66:2b Amplified)

Have a great week!
