Good Morning!

QUESTION: Is it possible to live a pure life in a society that is obsessed with sex?

The Scriptures give us no quarter on this one:

"Pursue a holy life, without which no one shall see the Lord." (Hebrews 12:14)

"Do not be deceived; neither fornicators...no adulterers, nor effeminate (literally: male prostitute), nor homosexuals...shall inherit the kingdom of God." (I Cor. 6:9, 10)

HERE ARE SIX GUIDELINES to help you win in this seemingly no-win environment:

#1 Be uncompromising in daily, quality time with Christ. You need spiritual food to

win in this arena! "Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the passions of

the flesh." (Galatians 5:16)

#2 Be accountable/transparent to/with someone. (James 5:16; Ecc. 4:9, 10)

#3 Be discreet/prudent in your dealings with the opposite sex. (Proverbs 22:3)

Disallow any appearance of evil. (I Thessalonians 5:22)

Disallow any emotional engagement; treat women as sisters. (I Timothy 5:2)

#4 Take whatever steps necessary to cut off sexual sins - (Matthew 5:28 - 31)

In this area of temptation, the Bible does not tell us to fight, but to flee:

(II Timothy 2:22; I Peter 2:11; Genesis 39:7 - 18)

#5 Become a student of yourself. Analyze your level of anger, stress, fatigue, etc. that act

as trigger points. Seek to live a well balanced life. (Luke 2:52)

#6 Visualize the scene when your wife and children learn of your sexual improprieties,

and contemplate the long term affects of your misconduct.

Have a great week!
