Good Morning!

Men, how is it going in the marriage department: Bleak? Boring? Tolerable? @#$%^&*+??, or off the chart?

I hate to tell you this, but 95% of the problems in marriages originate with us men. Here are FIVE key concepts that will make a significant difference in your marriage if you will just do them:

"REJOICE in her." (Proverbs 5:18) Literally: "Cheer her up" (after all, she has to live with you!). "Make her glad; brighten her up."

So...Is it "business as usual" with ole "What's Her Name"?...Or are you rejoicing in her?

"NOURISH her." (Ephesians 5:29) Literally: "To sustain, support, maintain and foster her."

So...Is it a "Give and Take" relationship? You know: She gives, and you take? Or are you nourishing her?

"CHERISH her." (Ephesians 5:29) Literally: "To hold her dear; to treat her with tenderness; to nurture, shelter, prize and treasure her."

So...Which do you cherish more: Your latest toy (gun, computer, truck) or your wife?

"UNDERSTAND her." ( I Peter 3:7) Literally: "Don't be harsh with her."

So...Do you brush her feelings aside, refusing to take her seriously? Or does she perceive you to be compassionately seeking to understand her emotions and needs?

"LOVE her." Colossians 3:19: "Husbands, be sure you give your wives much love and sympathy; don't let bitterness or resentment spoil your marriage." (Phillips Translation).

So...Are you exasperated by her? Provoked by her? Or are you forgiving her for being less than perfect? Like you.

It is rumored that women love WARRIORS! Are you enough of a warrior to knock here dead with love by REJOICING IN HER, NOURISHING HER, CHERISHING HER and seeking to UNDERSTAND HER? I have yet to meet the woman who does not respond to that kind of treatment!

Have a great week!
