Good Morning!

Jesus told us to "Go, MAKE DISCIPLES:

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and MAKE DISCIPLES of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18 - 20)

The kind of DISCIPLES Jesus charged us to develop have the following characteristics:

They have forsaken all to follow Christ:

"In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple." (Luke 14:26 - 33)

They are serious adherents of God's word:

"...Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31, 32)

They love others unconditionally and sacrifically as Christ loves us:

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:34, 35)

They are growing in Christ likeness:

"A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher." (Luke 6:40; Matthew 11:29)

They bear much, lasting fruit:

"This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples... You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last... " (John 15:8, 16)

Have a great week!

Oh...I almost forgot: A law of life is that you produce after your own kind. So to disciple others, you must first be a disciple. Hmm...
