Subject: Deuteronomy 18:15

Dearly Beloved,

Within the book of Deuteronomy there is another promise of the coming Prophet:(Deuteronomy 18:15) The Lord your God will raise up a prophet (Prophet) from the midst of your brethren like me [Moses]; to him shall you listen.

And indeed when Jesus came and ministered, he was acknowledged as The Prophet, as in Matthew 21:11, when the crowds answered "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."

And thus we see again, a prophesy and promise in the OT fulfilled in full in the NT.

This very passage Deuteronomy 18:15 is quoted by Peter in Acts 3:22 as he spoke and taught the men of Israel who gathered around Solomon's Colonnade in Jerusalem some 1500 years after Moses had first made this prophesy. Stephen, in his testimony and defence before the Sanhedrin quoted this same passage (Acts 7:37) before he was stoned (7:57)

What do we know about God's promises? Much from personal experiences. And even more from His Word! :Four passages from God speak to us directly today..

1 King 8:56 Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.

Rom 4:21 (..by faith...Abraham gave glory to God..) being fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ, and so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

1 John 2:25 Amplified.. And this is what He Himself has promised us- the life, the eternal life.

Let us close in prayer
