Dear Friends,
This is an urgent call to help with the situation in Turkey in the aftermath of the earthquake that hit Turkey two days ago. It was the strongest earthquake to ever hit Turkey. At this writing, the death toll is up to 3,500 with tens of thousands injured and/or still missing. Immediately a burden was placed on my heart that we should come forward to help. In the past 24 hours things have been moving very fast. In short, I will be leading a team from Singapore to go and offer help to the victims. We are leaving Monday night and will be met by Turkish government officials, who will help coordinate our efforts.
We have been in contact with the Turkish Embassy here in Singapore, as well as Turkish Airlines. Both are offering their full support. The email from Ms. Deniz Cakar, Charge d'Affairs of the Turkish Embassy gives further details. In addition, other organizations and people are volunteering their help.

If the amounts are large, we can supply a lorry to come and collect the items. Our staff and residents will handle all packing, and Turkish Airlines will air freight free of charge. |
